Useful Spa Information

Booking Appointments – Peak hours are often evenings and weekends, so book as far in advance as possible to ensure your time, day and therapist. To secure your appointment time, we ask for a valid credit card number when booking. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call to cancel or reschedule promptly to avoid cancellation fees.  For our guests convenience we offer Online Booking.

Cancellation Policy - In order to offer our guests as many available appointment times as possible, we have a strict cancellation policy.  All will agree: time is our most valuable asset. Please provide at least 24 hours notice for weekends and 12 hours for weekdays if you need to reschedule or cancel a treatment. This gives the day spa enough time to fill the slot. The spa needs to pay its therapists even if a client doesn't show up. "No shows" and late cancellations will be charged in full for the scheduled treatment.


Your Appointment
- We strongly recommend that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment time so that we can get you checked in and familiar with The Spa. In order to remain on schedule for all our clients, we may shorten your treatment time if you are late for your appointment. The normal fee for the treatment will remain the same.


Jewelry
- If possible, leave your jewelry at home as you will not need it for your spa visit. However, if you have brought valuables, make certain they are with you at all times. The Spa is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.


Communicate your Preferences
- All aspects of the treatment can usually be modified to your taste: amount of light, temperature of bed, room temperature, and whether or not you choose to have a conversation or enjoy the treatment in silence. If you want the therapist to go deeper or be gentler, let him or her know.  Also, feel free to ask questions. Your therapist will appreciate knowing your thoughts and clarifying any issues you may have. If any part of your experience is unsatisfactory, first tell the therapist. If the response isn't helpful, ask to speak to a spa manager.

Pregnancy or Medical conditions - Be sure to mention any medical information when you book an appointment. Certain treatments may not be advisable depending on the condition. Also, before your treatment begins, let your therapist or esthetician know of any medical concerns you may have.

Modesty - It is never required that you are unclothed in front of anyone at our day spa. There are several places you can change. Towels and robes are provided and can keep you continually covered. Therapists are well trained in the "art of draping" which means they keep you covered at all times except for the area of the body they are massaging. They leave the treatment room while you get under the sheet and they also leave the treatment room before you get up from the table.

Sun Tanning - Avoid the sun and tanning beds on the day of your treatment, and in some cases, the day after, especially for waxing and peels.

Eating and drinking  - Try not to eat for at least an hour before a massage or body treatment. Drink plenty of water before and afterward, especially in heat therapies, such as a body wrap, if it’s part of your spa experience.

Cell phones
Because we are trying to create a tranquil and stress-reducing experience for all our guests, it's best to leave cell phones and pagers at home or turn them off before entering the spa. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not allowed in the treatment areas.

What to Wear - When you arrive at the Spa, you will have the use of a luxurious robe and a pair of slippers while visiting the Spa. If you are having a treatment for the first time, feel free to ask the Spa Coordinator or your Therapist how you should be dressed for the treatment.  If you are having a Thai Massage, please wear loose fitted clothing. Again, we want to make sure that you are comfortable, so please let us know if you have questions.


Shower Fresh
- To protect your health and to allow our products to do their best for you, we recommend that you take a shower before you arrive for your treatment if possible.

Male or Female Therapist - Please let our Spa Coordinators know of any preferences you may have when you book your appointment.

To Talk or Not to Talk - In the Spa, silence can be golden and provides a relaxing and meditative atmosphere. However, If you feel like chatting, we'll chat. But if you want to escape in silence, we wholeheartedly support you!

Quiet, Please - The SkinSpa is a sanctuary for the body, the mind, and the eardrums! Please turn off the ringers on cell phones and pagers, and speak softly, just above a whisper to ensure tranquility for all our guests.

Gratuities - Your Spa treatment fee does not include gratuities. Between 15 and 20 percent for each person who gave you a service is customary, but you may leave more or less, depending on the quality of the service you received. We provide tipping envelopes at the front desk or you can add gratuity onto your credit card or personal check.

Returned Checks - If a check is refused by the bank, we will assess a $20 service charge.

Product Returns - We will gladly accept any retail product return for store credit only, so long as the return is within 30 days of purchase and is accompanied with proof of purchase. Jane Iredale Makeup may not be returned at any time, please choose carefully.

Groups - The SkinSpa specializes in small group functions, whether they are business-related, wedding parties, family reunions, or just friends. Ask to speak to our group coordinator for more information and discounted rates.

Children - To maintain our serene atmosphere, we ask that you not bring children to the Spa. We do, however allow children to enjoy certain facial and nail treatments under the following guidelines: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and all children under the age of 18 must have an adult sign their initial consultation form. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to have any body treatments or massage. Unfortunately no children under the age of 12 are permitted in the spa.

A Professional Spa Establishment - Our trained therapists and aestheticians are here solely to help improve your health, body and well-being. If a therapist ever feels that a client is behaving inappropriately, they are authorized to stop the treatment immediately and the client will be asked to leave the spa.

Express Checkout - Simplify your checkout using our Express Checkout service! We will store your payment preference information in your file so you can breeze out the door in blissful abandon. Ask one of our Spa Coordinators for more info. The SkinSpa accepts Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Card and ATM with Visa/MC logo.

Gift Certificates - The SkinSpa Gift Certificates are non-refundable but are transferable. Please inform our spa coordinators of your certificate when booking and present the gift certificate upon check-in. No shows and last minute cancellations will result in the forfeit of gift certificates.  Recipients of a donation or auctioned gift certificate must inform the spa prior to booking and present the gift certificate number. Donation Gift Certificates are valid Tuesday through Thursday only. The expiration date may not be changed or extended. Gift Vouchers given at the spa for promotions and gifts are valid 90 days from issue date.
